Wisdom Teeth

I don't enjoy having my wisdom teeth out. Put them back please. I want to eat real food again. I do like no chores and lots of naps though.....maybe I can deal with it a little longer.

I took some kids out to take pictures of local tobacco advertising. This poster was right across the street from a video rental store where lots of teens hang out. Who says the tobacco industry doesn't advertise to teens.
Julia i crazy! Check out that sunburn :)
Samuel being sneaky...his book is upside down
Check out my foot. Anyone remember that aweful scar I used to have? It's almost gone!

This is what I do at work....

I am a Tobacco Prevention Specialist for Yolo County. I go to fairs, concerts, and conferences teaching kids not to smoke. This past weekend I took a bunch of kids to a conference in Sacramento. We stayed at this awesome hostel and went to a Rivercats game. During the day the kids (and I) learned about different ways we could fight Big Tobacco in our communities. None of the kids believed that I was a chaperone so I had a little trouble doing my duties, but whatever ;) It is so much fun. I also help run the local Anti-Tobacco Youth Coalition in Woodland and West Sacramento. These kids are amazing. Their main goal is to prevent teens from getting to tobacco. They meet with city councilmembers, present to the Board of Supervisors, and write articles for the newspaper. We've also helped them plan big events like our annual "Strike Out The Hype" bowling night where we host free bowling, food, and a simulated smokers lung! In case you haven't noticed, I love my job. Here are a couple videos I found while researching the deceptive practices of Big Tobacco (A.K.A. Phillip Morris, R. J. Reynolds, etc.). They pretty much make fun of the excuses Big Tobacco has made over the years so they can keep selling their addictive but deadly product. Check out theTruth.Com for more information!
